instant oatmeal...with coffee

hey everyone, i feel like edison.

a few minutes ago i was scrounging for some breakfast...lucky for me i had horded some instant oatmeal in by book-bag. sadly i could not find any hot water. in a classic case of limitations leading to a new idea...i decided to add coffee to my dehydrated breakfast instead.

well...

it was amazing.

here is how you make it:

step 1: put instant oatmeal in a container

step 2: add coffee

step 3: eat

step 4: smile

step 5: post about it on a blog*

give it a spin, it's the bee's knees, i swear.

Though both in their own right will make you run to the bathroom, this combo is sure to have you sprint unexpectedly in full force. Well done, Nick :D

this actually sounds pretty good. if i'm ever in such a bind, or need a new idea for breakfast...i'm going for it.

it seems like the supplies to construct that concoction could easily be found at a hotel's free continental breakfast. delicious and free. i say yes.

kari, we're doing it. probably at the detroit hotel...if they are a properly stocked hotel.

i'll be sure to smile and post about it in a blog too. its what i do.

it was one pouch of regular flavor, one pouch of 'cinnamon spice.' mmmmmm

mmmmm... 'cinnamon spice'. i prefer 'maple & brown sugar' myself, but with coffee it might be oversweetened.

Just did made coffee oatmeal this morning, and was surprised to find out that it is absolutely spectacular. So my last step was to see if other people had done it. it is delicious with brown sugar and honey to stave off the bitter taste.

This will become a regular meal.

oatmeal+coffee+sugar (just a bit)+ whiskey (apply liberally) = the real deal

i've been trying to decide whether or not to add instant coffee to some oatmeal and this blog has certainly helped push me in that direction =)

A similar situation arose in my head this afternoon--though I was not in a hurry to make breakfast. I was thinking about how to jazz up my oatmeal. Recipe:

2 1/8 cup hot coffee
1 Tablespoon Milk
3 teaspoons sugar (or however much you need)
1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

Procedure:
heat coffee in 2-quart pan until it begins to boil. add oatmeal and reduce heat to simmer. continue to cook for ~ 1 minute and then add the milk and sugar and then stir well. monitor the oatmeal for the next 5 - 10 minutes. remove from heat once the oatmeal reaches your desired thickness.

Enjoy a cup-a-jo with a cup of oatmeal, C^:

You are Genius! I love this combo. It works great when you need something quick, cheap, portable, and energizing on campus between classes. Thanks.

McCormick Tribune Plaza & Ice Rink is a multi-purpose venue within Millennium Park in the Loop community area of Chicago, Illinois, US. On December 20, 2001, it became the first attraction in Millennium Park to open. The $3.2 million plaza was funded by a donation from the McCormick Tribune Foundation. It has served as an ice skating rink, a dining facility and briefly as an open-air exhibition space. The plaza operates as McCormick Tribune Ice Rink, a free public outdoor ice skating rink that is generally open four months a year, from mid-November until mid-March, when it hosts over 100,000 skaters annually.

U.S. state (abbreviation of United States state) is any one of the 50 federated states of the United States of America that share sovereignty with the federal government. Because of this shared sovereignty, an American is a citizen both of the federal entity and of his or her state of domicile. Four states use the official title of commonwealth rather than state. State citizenship is flexible and no government approval is required to move between states (with the exception of convicts on parole).
